Healthy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Healthier Chocolate Chip Cookies

Let’s face it, no matter how healthy our lifestyle might be we all crave a little treat once in a while. Last weekend Mr Healthy Tart wasn’t around and seemingly nobody else was, therefore I found myself slightly frustrated spending the Saturday evening by myself.

But it wouldn’t be me if my attempt at keeping myself entertained hadn’t involved some form of cooking or baking. As enjoyable as cooking might be, nothing helps to overcome a little frustration the way chocolate chip cookies do.

For a lot of us, they bring back childhood memories of stealing grandma’s warm chocolate chip cookies from the cooling rack. In my head, the smell of freshly baked cookies is inseparable with the warmth and comfort of my grandma.

Growing up, unfortunately, made me also realise the less welcome side effects of excessive cookie consumption. As we grow older most of us become a little wiser which is why I decided to come up with a healthier version of the classic chocolate chip cookies.

Although being a healthier version they should still be consumed in moderation. But after all, we live only once and we are talking coooookies….. come on, who could resist?
