Are you a waffle lover? Then these healthy homemade chocolate waffles are certainly for you. They are easy to make and full of nutritional goodness. Best of all, they are vegan and gluten-free which means that almost everyone can enjoy them. The ripe, mashed banana and cinnamon will add natural sweetness without the need for added sugar.
In a cup, combine the flaxseeds or chia seeds with almond milk and let soak for about 5 minutes until it turns into a gloopy mass.
Add the dry ingredients to a medium-sized bowl.
Stir in the wet ingredients to create a thick batter.
Heat the waffle iron, brush both sides with coconut or any other oil. Cook in about 1/2-cup servings or as directed by the manufacturer. Don't start with the highest setting as it can easily burn. I consider the first waffle to be a test waffle and just the temperature according to the result.
Top with coconut yoghurt and berries of your choice.
Notes
If you prefer a thinner batter simply add more almond milk.
